All our wooden pallets and packing products are manufactured using timber from approved sources.
Timber
All products manufactured by Shaw Pallet are of softwoods, unless clients specifically, request otherwise.
Our timber sources lie predominantly within the UK and Eire. In these areas the vast majority of timber emanates from forestry which has the approval of the internationally recognised FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council), where professional management of our resources is standard practice.
Such is our supply chain that the softwoods provided are grown as a commercial crop to specifically service the industrial packaging and construction markets. These approved and selected sources offer a fine blend of quality materials and rapid availability, without environmental sacrifice.
The strong support Shaw Pallet has demonstrated within the UK industry provides supplier partnerships that enable us to offer exceptional supply continuity to our client-base.
The video below, ‘Wood – nature’s stroke of genius’ from the The Danish Wood Initiative, explains the benefits of timber and why wood is the world’s most environmentally friendly material.

Recycling
Unwanted and surplus timber packaging is reprocessed by our re-cycling operations into a variety of re-usable materials, including: animal bedding and wood-fibre for the panel products industry.
One of the more unusual uses for wood waste is in the growing of coral for aquariums. Shaw Pallet linked up with Yorkshire based ‘Sustainable Sources’ to create a unique partnership that is set to dramatically reduce the erosion of natural coral reefs in the Indian Ocean.
Shaw Pallet provides wood waste residues through its re-cycling initiatives, which are being used to heat the water that is required to encourage plant growth. Sustainable Sources has developed ground breaking technologies which enables the company to grow coral; which is being marketed to aquariums throughout Europe.
