Jan, who worked as a member of the Shaw Pallet sales team up until her retirement in 2017, has recently been involved in organising the Brooklands Re-visited Classic Car Show and family fun day in Holmfirth and Shaw Pallet were one of the official event sponsors.
This proved to be a huge success and £5500 was raised towards for the charity.
What many often find surprising is the fact that the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire.
As a Charity the YAA only receives help through secondment of paramedics from the NHS, through Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. To keep both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances in the air they need to raise £12,000 per day, in other words the equivalent to £4.4 million each and every year.
As a rapid response air emergency service the Charity serves a population of approximately 5 million people across 4 million acres, the two Air Ambulances operate from The Nostell Priory Estate near Wakefield and RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk, from where they offer coverage to the whole of the region.
