It is said that golfers have a 12,500-1 chance of achieving a “hole in one” and so; when Tom Jenkinson (handicap 4) strolled onto the 3rd tee at Woodsome Hall Golf Club on Sunday 20th May, it’s unsurprising that the thought of him grabbing his first ever ‘ACE’ had scarcely entered his head.
30 seconds later matters had changed, as a fantastic 5 iron produced a moment of pure golfing genius that he certainly won’t forget.
